Dishwasher not Cleaning?

If you have noticed your dishwasher not cleaning lately, your not alone. Many of our customers throughout the Denver metro area have been having the same problem.

The main problem we have been seeing is with the soap. The government has mandated that all phosphates be removed out of the dish-washing detergent. The phosphate was the cleaning power in the soap. In fact the harder your water was, the higher the phosphate you would need in the soap. I have found a great product that works as a soap additive. The product is called "Lemon Shine" and it works well! In fact we use it in our dishwasher.

There are a couple other things you can check if your dishwasher is not cleaning. Check to see if your water is hot enough. Check to be sure your spray arm isn't being blocked by dishes. You can also check to see if something is stuck under the float, which would stop the water from filling the dishwasher. That reminds me, I do sometimes find the water turned off to the dishwasher.

Something else you should use in a good rinse aid. Rinse aid helps to keep spots from forming on the dishes.
