Dryer Not Drying Clothes

It can be frustrating when you open the dryer door and reach in to find the clothes are still wet! But what can you do to get the dryer working again? I've listed a few things that can be checked before calling an appliance repairman.

  • If there is no heat at all check the breaker to see if it's tripped. The best way to check a breaker is to flip it off then on again. Then check to see if your dryer is heating. If a breaker continues to trip you may need an appliance repairman or electrician.
  • Check the lint filter to see if it needs cleaning. If you use dryer sheets that same chemical that softens the clothes can clog your lint screen. Simply remove the lint from the screen and then use a scrubbing brush and clean it under water, no soap is necessary.
  • Check your venting to see if it's clogged. Also the vent flap on the outside of your home can sometimes be sticky. Check it out and free it if it is.

Hopes this helps. And please see our web site DenverApplianceRepair.com for more appliance repair tips!
